Join Haskè Ventures, the Venture Studio building the next generation of West African Entrepreneurs. We are looking for an experienced and ambitious Lead Experience Design (XD) to join our headquarters team in Dakar.

Experience designers measure and optimize applications (usually web and mobile-based) to improve ease of use (usability) and create the best user experience by exploring many different approaches to solve end-users’ problems.

At Haskè Ventures, you will create satisfying and compelling experiences for users of a product in a specific venture, often drawing on user research and workflow analysis results. Generally, Experience designers need to possess strong creative, technical, and problem-solving skills. Areas of focus may include content, controls, visual design and development, information architecture, user research, branding, and customer/technical support.

OBJECTIVES OF THIS ROLE

• Define the comprehensive Customer Experience of a new venture
• Craft XD artifacts like customer journey, wireframes, service blueprints
• Design delightful and differentiating User Interface for new products and services
• Define interaction models, and user task flows
• Design (interactive) prototypes and lead user testing

DAILY AND MONTHLY RESPONSIBILITIES

• Conduct rapid prototyping by taking a fuzzy concept and making it tangible, quickly
• Map user journey by developing storyboards, wireframes, and user journey flows to communicate the entire cycle of the user experience
• Translate User Experience (UX) into simple, elegant, visually pleasing designs
• Drive user testing, research, and feedback loops by getting in front of customers (and potential customers) to lead product design sessions with curiosity
• Analyse user feedback and activity, and iterate to enhance the user experience
• Run point with engineering teams as we get into the details of building the product
• Assist the engineering teams with the product development
• Lead and execute a design system: we are building multiple companies every year and would like to carry over many design elements from company to company

SKILLS AND QUALIFICATIONS

• A highly organized thinker and project manager, coupled with great aesthetic sensibilities
• BSc in Design, Computer Science, Service Design, or a related field
• 5-10 years of experience in working with or in a related field
• Skilled in Design Thinking, Service Design, Prototype Design, User Testing; Graphic Design; Sound Design
• Highly skilled in graphic design, using tools such as Adobe XD, Photoshop, Illustrator and Canva 2
• Highly skilled in UX wireframing and customer journey design, using tools such as Figma, or UXPin
• Highly skilled in web technologies like HTML, CSS, JavaScript, and No Code website building
• Proven experience of succeeding in cross-functional product and engineering teams and understanding of how to collaborate across disciplines
• Experience with Agile product development
• Strong expertise in defining and setting up qualitative and quantitative UX Tests, like: A/B Tests, Conversion funnels, Website analytics.
• Experience with building Design Systems
• Experience with building Brand Guidelines
• Deep knowledge of best UX and UI practices, trends in product design,
• intrinsic desire to continually learn new technologies, techniques, and tools
• Strong problem-solving skills, combining analytical clarity, accuracy, and attention to detail
• Interest in business aspects of Service Design and Venture Building (familiar with concepts like the Business Model Canvas)
• Previous experience with high exposure to entrepreneurship such as start-up, venture capital, or start-up accelerator roles. Personal experience as a founder and entrepreneur is a Plus.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English or French
• French and English proficiency is a plus
