Head of Growth Architecture

Haskè Ventures, the Venture Studio building the next generation of West African Entrepreneurs, is looking for an experienced and ambitious Head of Growth Architecture to join the headquarters team in Dakar.

You will take on the leadership role of our Growth Architecture team. You will be responsible for sprouting growth thinking into all the different stages of our ventures, from ideation to launch and scale. The Growth Architect's mission is to drive successful growth by leveraging the complementary relationship between product development, marketing, and technology. He/she builds the go-to-market strategies and executes activities that lead to efficient customer acquisition, engagement, referral, and retention. The Head of Growth Architecture will then work with the Venture Architects or Entrepreneurs in Residence, creating execution plans to ensure the recommendations are sound, actionable, and impactful.

Your analytic strength will be vital in developing data-based insights and building the venture's growth strategy to help set new ventures up for success or take existing ventures through the next stages of growth and scaling. You will collaborate with team members (growth architects) from multiple disciplines and will be responsible for shaping the growth architecture process.

OBJECTIVES OF THIS ROLE

  • Lead Haskè Ventures’ Growth Architecture team to brainstorm and execute new out-of-the-box experiments to focus the ventures on changes that drive direct revenue impact

  • Utilize your deep expertise to develop lightweight processes, workflows, and approaches that support growth experimentation

  • Ensure that the team correctly identifies the priorities of the ventures so they can stay focused on driving growth

  • Guide thinking, to surface key findings for the team to ask the right questions for each venture

  • Build the team to have a wide range of experiences and skills

DAILY AND MONTHLY RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Manage a team that works on various aspects of a venture to help it grow 2x year over year

  • Help the team find agile ways of eliminating waste of time and resources

  • Scan for novel business insights and turn them into actionable opportunities

  • Contribute to the building of a comprehensive brand understanding to clarify alignment

  • Work with venture architects to test growth hypotheses with financial models

  • Define and validate core KPIs and unit economics, such as cost per metrics (CAC), retention, ROI and LTV, to drive the business

  • Assist ventures in execution—identifying and attracting talent, assisting with pivots that are outside the current scope of the ventures, consulting on choices that arise during execution

  • Build the growth architecture team by attracting and training talented growth architects

SKILLS AND QUALIFICATIONS

  • ±10 years' experience in related field

  • Bachelor's degree in marketing, business or a related field, or equivalent experience

  • Generalist with a wide range of experience who can quickly move from enterprise to enterprise and

    knows what questions to ask each

  • Creative thinker who understands how to translate numerical data into real-world experience

  • Aptitude to understand how to communicate, with an emphasis on visual communication,

    expert communication, presentation, and material preparation skills required

  • Ability to read analytics fluently and understands how to find the most critical information

    (expertise in analytic tools such as Excel and Google Analytics)

  • High emotional intelligence, understanding of how to mentor a team and help each member

    grow their expertise and wholistic understanding of the work

  • Full of curiosity and creativity

  • Passion for driving customer adoption, bringing products to market and scaling digital and non-

    digital products and services

  • Obsessed with solving puzzles and never giving up

  • Previous experience in customer acquisition and growth for B2B, B2BC and B2C businesses

  • Passion for growth marketing, driving customer adoption, bringing products to market, and

    scaling digital products and services
